Kanye West's "Power" video, which premieres Thursday (August 5) at 11 p.m. on MTV, is a collaboration between the Louis Vuitton Don and artist Marco Brambilla. When MTV News caught up with the director Wednesday afternoon, he said he and West attempted to paint a portrait of power in the clip. "There's a lyric in the song — 'No one man should have this much power' — so the video kind of answers its own question," Brambilla said. "It poses the question: 'What does power and access look like?' And then: 'How delicate is it to preserve that moment of time?' " Brambilla said they wanted to take a contemporary look at the idea of someone being immortal then becoming mortal, and show it in a way that would connect to art history. He used the Sistine Chapel as a reference point, including a Michelangelo fresco that comes to life. West is the central figure of the piece and represents "power." Brambilla said West has gone through a tumultuous past year, as expressed in the lyrics of "Power," and is in a moment of transition. The results of the poll show that you all dig her new 'do, but there are definitely quite a few fans out there that are rebelling against Emma switching up the hair we have come to know her for over the past decade. The U.S. Federal Communications Commission has called off negotiations on a network neutrality compromise scheduled for the coming days, saying the talks have not been fruitful enough.The FCC's decision to cancel this round of negotiations comes after news reports late Wednesday that Google and Verizon Communications were close to their own deal on network management practices.The negotiations have been "productive on several fronts," Edward Lazarus, the FCC's chief of staff, said in a statement. However, the discussions have "not generated a robust framework to preserve the openness and freedom of the Internet -- one that drives innovation, investment, free speech, and consumer choice," he added. "All options remain on the table as we continue to seek broad input on this vital issue."An FCC spokeswoman didn't say whether the FCC's decision to call off the talks and the news reports on Verizon and Google's negotiations were related.The FCC has been hosting net neutrality negotiations with broadband providers and other interested groups since June, after providers and dozens of U.S. lawmakers objected to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski's plan to create formal rules at the agency. (AP) – 2 hours ago GRAY SUMMIT, Mo. — Two school buses packed with children crashed into a tractor-trailer near St. Louis Thursday, leaving two dead and at least 50 people injured, officials said.Missouri Department of Transportation spokesman Jorma Duran could not immediately say whether the two dead in the Interstate 44 crash near Gray Summit, 32 miles west of St. Louis, were riders on the school buses.Franklin County Sheriff's Department officials said up to 50 people were injured in the collision, broadcasters KMOX and KMOV reported.The buses were carrying eighth-grade St. James band students to the Six Flags amusement park roughly 10 miles from the crash scene.Footage of the scene showed metal ladders leaning into the windows of the crumpled yellow buses on the side of the highway as emergency crews surrounded the scene. Facebook Voids Marriage at the Regency San Marino Regardless of the amount of social media businesses and individuals plann to be involved in, the bottom line is that everyone else seems to be doing it so why not? Old classmates or former elementary school friends along with  massive numbers of family members have joined in the social media movement to reunite with their loved ones.  Facebook just happens to be one of the most popular sites for that kind of interaction right now. For one woman who had a beautiful wedding at the Regency San Marino in Italy in 2005, Facebook has basically slapped her in the face. The wedding was a fraud and unfortunately the woman had no idea although the man in question is asking that the marriage be void from the beginning. The woman suspected her husband was having an affair and went to Facebook to search for the woman. Instead of finding a mistress, she found an entire page of photos of children and family which included the man she thought she had married. Part-time actor and mixed martial arts fighter Roger Huerta was captured in a street fight on Saturday morning in Austin, Texas. The former UFC lightweight contender who is now under contract with Bellator ran after a man who was caught punching a woman. Huerta, who is nicknamed “El Matador” charged at the attacker saying “You just punched a f**kin girl.”. The TMZ crew did not get to capture all the action as bystanders blocked the camera while the fight was going on. Towards the end of the scuffle, Huerta was reportedly stomping on the head of the male attacker. Huerta recently appeared in a movie adaptation of the hit fight video game “Tekken”. No arrests were reported, according to TMZ. There are no updates yet on how Bellator as his fight promoter will sanction any disciplinary actions. This may cause serious implications on his fighting and acting career. However, there are mixed reactions on Huerta’s actions as he beat up a man who physically assaulted a woman. ... [more..]
