CONTINUING EDUCATION LOANS FOR THE PART-TIME STUDENT

Attending college even part of the time can be an expensive venture. Unfortunately the only way most individuals can go to college is by getting a student loan. That's because tuition is expensive, not to mention the high costs for books and materials. When looking for a loan, it's hard deciding which loan is best for you. One great option is the continuing education student loan. It's a terrific means of paying for all these expenses. But to get this loan, you have to meet the requirements. For example, you must be a citizen of the US and have a well-established credit history. So if you have little or no credit, or a bad credit rating, then this might not be the loan for you. But if you can get a cosigner who has good credit to sign for the loan, then your chances are much better.Another loan requirement is that the state's department of education must accredit the college where you would be spending these funds. And most of these loans are designed for students not enrolled full-time in a college, but only half-time or less. One great advantage of the continuing education loan is that as you pay the loan off, ... [more..]

HOW TO DECREASE TUITION COSTS FOR COLLEGE

As an alumnus of a private college in Chicago I am fully aware of the cost to attend college. Many of the students I come in contact with complain that tuition is too high. I have seen many of their financial plans. Many are required to pay $500-$3000 per month in order to continue their studies. Some have no choice but to drop out because they are unable to pay.1. Consider going to a community collegeAs a 1989 high school graduate I knew I wasn't ready for college. My parents were unable to afford the high cost of college tuition so I decided to attend a junior college. Since my income was next to nothing and I was living on my own I qualified for every grant available.2. Consider a part-time jobThis is a great way to offset the cost of your tuition while obtaining experience. There are a number of resources you can use to obtain a part-time job to help pay a for a portion of your college tuition. Visit http://www.monster.com, http://www.craigslist.com or http://www.careerbuilder.com to locate part-time employment in your area. There are also organizations which will assist you in finding employment.Jobs for Youth is a non-profit organization which assist ... [more..]

UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGE STUDENTS AFFECTED BY FINANCIAL CRISIS – FUTURE OF NATION AT STAKE

The financial crisis is severely affecting our colleges and universities. Currently, tuition costs have risen out of control and even if students can get student loans to attend college, it puts them into the workforce under a pile of debt, essentially subjecting them to economic enslavement for decades. In fact, many government agencies are now offering to pay off tuition debts if the graduating students do a rather long stint with government employment. The Universities have been unable to control costs and due to supply and demand issues, coupled with the easy money of government guaranteed loans to college students. Academia is broken, just like the Health Care System, Banking System and Housing Markets, worse the runaway costs have the taxpayers holding the key. Academia has abused their status like the leaders of the other groups. The unfortunate thing is that we trust academia to insure the education of the next generation which will lead us. It is critical, unfortunately the system is rotten to the core with agendas and the very thing they accuse the entrepreneurial capitalists is something they themselves are engaged in and yet, they remain immune to the realities of; mostly due to the hijacking of the system ... [more..]
