27 July 2010 Last updated at 13:25 ET The Utah State Supreme Court has overturned the rape convictions of polygamous US sect leader Warren Jeffs and ordered a new trial. Jeffs, 54, was convicted in 2007 of two counts of first degree rape after he had arranged the marriage of a 14-year-old girl to her 19-year-old cousin. The court said jury instructions on the girl's consent had been "in error". Jeffs was serving two consecutive terms of five years to life in Utah State prison. He is the head of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a breakaway sect of Mormonism and based on the border between Utah and Arizona. He also faces criminal charges in Texas. Before his arrest in 2006, Jeffs had been on the run for 15 months and was on the FBI's 10 "most wanted" fugitives. ... [more..]

Got iPhone 4 reception and dropped call issues? There’s a case for that. And an app. Apple began its program to give all owners of the iPhone 4 a free case in an attempt to alleviate issues stemming from placement of one of its antennas. The move was announced at an impromptu press conference last Friday. Current owners of the device as well as any prospective buyers up to Sept. 30 can download an app from the iTunes store which, when used on their device, provides step-by-step instructions for securing a free case. Options are available, from Apple’s own bumper case (only available through the program in black) as well as third-party manufacturers like InCase and Belkin. The town of Jim Thorpe, PA is facing a legal battle with the legendary athlete's son, who is demanding his remains be exumed and transported back to Oklahoma-where he's from.  His son resents having his father's remains exploited as a tourist attraction and is suing to have them returned. Outside of the state of Pennsylvania, Jim Thorpe is an obscure town to many.  For those of us in PA and even South Jersey, it's a great place to visit and is reminisicient of New Hope and the likes.  The town of Jim Thorpe got it namesake when they stepped up and offered to bury Jim Thorpe when his hometown in Oklahoma refused to bury him.  They purchased the remains from his third wife and erected a monument in his honor.  Thus, the town of Mach Chunk became Jim Thorpe.  Even if Jim Thorpe's son wins the case it's unlikely to destroy the town as the writer from sportsgrid.com states.
