INDIANA UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS AHEAD OF TIME – WORLD CORRESPONDENTS
Indiana residents can now start applying for unemployment benefits. It was earlier announced that residents can apply for unemployment benefits by Tueday, August 3. However, signing of unemployment benefits in Indiana started earlier following the completion of computer programming. Vouchers for eligible residents are now being posted according to officials of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. One-third of the vouchers are expected to be available on Monday, department officials say. They also expect all vouchers ready by Tuesday and updates are done on a daily basis. Indiana State Administration Department Commissioner Mark Everson has confirmed that Hoosiers can start filing for their unemployment benefits ahead of schedule. There are twenty seven full-service WorkOne Centers for the Department of Workforce Development. These centers are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Friday, August 6. This new federal legislation has an estimate of 80,000 possible beneficiaries of the unemployment benefits. Retroactive unemployment benefits can be filed online as well. WorkOne Centers are also processing unemployment benefits extension at the end of the benefits period. T-WOLVES TRADING AL JEFFERSON TO JAZZ – WORLD CORRESPONDENTS (BLOG)
In the NBA offseason, anything can happen. The Minnesota Timberwolves are close to dealing their power forward Al Jefferson to the Utah Jazz. Jefferson has three years remaining in his contract worth million with the T-Wolves. The Jazz may still have salary room to accommodate Jefferson’s deal using their more than million exception they got from the Chicago Bull as a result of the sign-and-trade deal on Carlos Boozer.
The Dallas Mavericks were in the hunt for Al Jefferson but it appears that the Jazz are all set to acquire the 25-year old power forward. The 15th overall draft pick of the 2004 NBA season has averages of 17.1 points and 9.2 rebounds but he struggled after an injury in February 2009 that required surgery on his right ACL.
Jefferson was the leading scorer and franchise player for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is the last remaining player that the Wolves acquired from the Boston Celtics as part of the Kevin Garnett deal.
