SARAH PALIN ‘REFUTES’ MOSQUE CONSTRUCTION NEAR GROUND ZERO – THE EPOCH TIMES
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin forayed into the dispute over the proposed site of a mosque several blocks from where the World Trade Center stood in Lower Manhattan, saying that the proposed 13-story building should not be constructed. The proposal to build the mosque has been met with several protests over the past few months. On her Twitter page Palin said, “Peaceful New Yorkers, pls refute the ground zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused twin towers site is too raw, too real.” In a previous post she used “refudiate” rather than “refute,” which prompted several media outlets to make clear that the former isn't a word. Palin shot back and Tweeted: “English is a living language. Shakespeare liked to coin new words too. Got to celebrate it!” Palin spoke to Muslims in her next Twitter posting, saying, “Peace-seeking Muslims, pls understand, ground zero mosque is UNNECESSARY provocation; it stabs hearts.
