Last night, July 18, saw the pay-per-view Money in the Bank 2010 event from WWE and many of you will be wanting to know the results. These evenings are always pure entertainment and usually throw up a few surprise defeats and wins so let’s take a look at what happened.The RAW Money in the Bank Ladder Match was won by The Miz, now that one definitely surprised me. The Miz threw off challenges by Randy Orton, John Morrison, Mark Henry, Evan Bourne, Ted DiBiase, Chris Jericho and Edge and will now get a chance for the championship, according to Techie Buzz.We also saw the Smackdown Money in the Bank Ladder Match and there was another major surprise, at least where I was concerned when Kane beat The Big Show, Matt Hardy, Christian, Kofi Kingston, “Dashing” Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler. That meant Kane earned the right to a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.Alicia Fox beat Eve Torres in a Divas Championship Match while in the WWE Women’s Championship Layla beat Kelly Kelly. BRITISH OPEN 2010 PRIZE MONEY GOES UP: OOSTHUIZEN WINS BIG – ONLY KENT (BLOG)
The British Open 2010 reached its conclusion earlier on today and it was Louis Oosthuizen that won in big style, in more ways than one. The challenging weather conditions at The Old Course, St. Andrews in Scotland had made life tough for all the players, but it was Oosthuizen who gained his first-ever majors win, amazingly 7-shots clear at the finish (see earlier article).Now many of you are wondering what the prize money is for the British Open Championship 2010. In spite of the current economic climate you may be surprised to know the overall prize fund actually rose this year, for the first time since 2006. The total purse has risen by £600,000 this year to take the amount to £4.8 million, according to The Press Association. If you want an easy currency converter to see what that is wherever you are then go here.The defending champion, Stuart Cink, took home £750,000 last year, but Louis Oosthuizen will collect £850,000 this year.
