ON JOHN BOLZ, JOHN CARROLL, PEREZ HILTON, BLOGGING, AND MAKING MONEY
On John Bolz, John Carroll, Perez Hilton, blogging, and making money John Bolz is the number one Google Trend as this blog post is written. The problem is no one knows why. But one has to use John Bolz and "grover cleveland alexander" to generate traffic, views, and ad revenue for their blogs. When San Francisco Chronicle Columnist and all-around good man John Carroll wrote about bloggers and wondered how they make money (in "the blog dilemma" which should have been designed to be found in a search), he looked at it, it seemed unknowingly, from the perspective of one who's used to working for someone else. Perez Hilton shows the way The most successful bloggers own their own blogs: Perez Hilton comes to mind. Now, if you're going to tell me what you think of Perez' content, you're not going to learn anything, so you're not the person I'm trying to reach. Perez Hilton owns his own blog, and yet he's "multi-platform:" he has millions of Twitter followers. His videos can be found on his own YouTube channel, where, like me, Perez is a YouTube Partner. That means he earns revenue from his video views. He's ... [more..]

BRITISH OPEN 2010 PRIZE MONEY GOES UP: OOSTHUIZEN WINS BIG – ONLY KENT (BLOG)
The British Open 2010 reached its conclusion earlier on today and it was Louis Oosthuizen that won in big style, in more ways than one. The challenging weather conditions at The Old Course, St. Andrews in Scotland had made life tough for all the players, but it was Oosthuizen who gained his first-ever majors win, amazingly 7-shots clear at the finish (see earlier article). Now many of you are wondering what the prize money is for the British Open Championship 2010. In spite of the current economic climate you may be surprised to know the overall prize fund actually rose this year, for the first time since 2006. The total purse has risen by £600,000 this year to take the amount to £4.8 million, according to The Press Association. If you want an easy currency converter to see what that is wherever you are then go here. The defending champion, Stuart Cink, took home £750,000 last year, but Louis Oosthuizen will collect £850,000 this year. The rise in the purse is apparently due to the weak pound against the US Dollar and the Euro. Second-placed Lee Westwood will take home £500,000 and even the player at the bottom of ... [more..]

HOW TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID
Going to college can cost a lot of money, as you probably know. If you are planning to attend college soon, you may want to consider applying for federal aid. You can start by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, otherwise known as FAFSA.The sooner you fill out this form, the more improved your chances are of obtaining the total amount of financial aid available to you. Also you'd be able to repair any possible problems that might arise far ahead of the deadline for the aid.The last date for applying varies from year to year, but is normally somewhere near the start of summer. It is best to apply as early as you can though, so that you can get any questions or concerns you have answered in a timely basis.A far as the FAFSA goes, most colleges require this form to be filled out before they will award any kind of financial aid, including federal. In fact, you need to check with your college to see if the FAFSA is required even for applying for scholarships as well as aid. Start with the financial aid office at the college of your choice, to discover what ... [more..]
