MLB TRADING PLACES: OCTAVIO DOTEL JOINS THE LOS ANGELES DODGERS
Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images The Los Angeles Dodgers finally made a move to improve their shaky bullpen on trade deadline day, acquiring Pirates closer Octavio Dotel in exchange for James McDonald and minor league outfielder Andrew Lambo. The Pirates will also send 0,000 to the Dodgers to offset some of Dotel's salary.In Dotel, the Dodgers get a steady major league reliever who can adequately serve the role that the squad thought George Sherrill would heading into 2010. Sherrill has struggled greatly this season, posting a 7.23 ERA in 23.2 innings of work, a surprising stat line considering his 0.65 ERA in 27.2 innings with the Dodgers late last season. The team even attempted to release Sherrill via waivers, but he was not claimed by other clubs and rejoined the team.Dotel, by contrast, has not dominated but has largely been effective as the closer for the bottom-dwelling Pittsburgh Pirates. In 40 innings, the 36 year-old righthander has notched 21 saves and a 4.28 ERA, a 1.30 WHIP, and 48 strikeouts. MONEY MAGAZINE’S ‘BEST PLACES TO LIVE’ LIST INCLUDES FOUR NJ TOWNS – THE STAR-LEDGER – NJ.COM

Money Magazine's list of 'best places to live' in the United States includes four New Jersey towns in the top 100 ranking, according to CNNMoney.com.
Franklin Township in Somerset County ranked the highest on the list at 34, while nearby Piscataway in Middlesex County came in 57, Wayne in Passaic County ranked 73, and Middletown in Monmouth County ranked 89.
Eden Prairie, Minnesota, with a median home price of 0,710 topped the Money Magazine list, which ranked the towns based on jobs, crime, housing prices and quality of life.
Money Magazine describes Franklin Township:
"Despite being just an hour away from New York City, this 46-square-mile township contains quite a bit of farmland.
There are miles of walking trails overlooking green pastures. Recreation opportunities are varied, including cricket fields and skateboard ramps. The township's rich cultural diversity is reflected in its many restaurants"
