In the NBA offseason, anything can happen. The Minnesota Timberwolves are close to dealing their power forward Al Jefferson to the Utah Jazz. Jefferson has three years remaining in his contract worth million with the T-Wolves. The Jazz may still have salary room to accommodate Jefferson’s deal using their more than million exception they got from the Chicago Bull as a result of the sign-and-trade deal on Carlos Boozer. The Dallas Mavericks were in the hunt for Al Jefferson but it appears that the Jazz are all set to acquire the 25-year old power forward. The 15th overall draft pick of the 2004 NBA season has averages of 17.1 points and 9.2 rebounds but he struggled after an injury in February 2009 that required surgery on his right ACL. Jefferson was the leading scorer and franchise player for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is the last remaining player that the Wolves acquired from the Boston Celtics as part of the Kevin Garnett deal. ... [more..]
